5 Things To Consider When Buying A New Lawn Mower

If you are thinking about getting your yard in tip-top shape, one tool that will help you do that is a new lawn mower. But with such a variety of models on the market, it may be tough to know which one is right for you. This article lists five things you should consider when you're shopping for a new lawn mower.

1. The size of your yard

One of the key things to consider when you're buying a new lawn mower is the size of your yard. You won't need a large, gas-powered mower if you have a small yard. Instead, something more lightweight and easy to manoeuvre will do the trick. Conversely, if you have a large yard, you'll want something with more power that can quickly cover more ground.

2. The method of propulsion

You should also consider if you want a self-propelled or push lawn mower. Self-propelled mowers are great for people who have trouble pushing a heavy mower around or those who have large yards. On the other hand, push mowers are typically lighter and more compact, making them ideal for small yards.

3. The environment

If you're aiming to reduce the size of your carbon footprint, then you might want to consider an electric or battery-powered lawn mower. These types of mowers don't produce any emissions, so they're better for the environment. However, they might not have enough power to tackle a large yard—so keep that in mind when making your decision.

4. The ignition

Nobody wants to spend their entire Saturday afternoon trying to get their lawn mower started. That's why it's important to look for a model that is easy to start up—preferably one with an electric starter button. This way, all you'll have to do is push a button, and away you go!

5. The safety features

When looking at different models, be sure to pay attention to any safety features included. For example, some newer models come with a blade-brake clutch, which allows you to disengage the blades to stop them spinning without turning off the entire mower. This feature may be very useful if you need to empty the grass catcher or move something out of your path quickly.

If you consider the above, you're sure to find a lawn mower that meets your needs. Contact a lawn mower sales company for more info. A member of the sales crew will be happy to help.
